International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims
The International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT)
is an independent, international health professional organisation,
which promotes and supports the rehabilitation of torture victims
and works for the prevention of torture worldwide. They are based
in Denmark.

CVT (Center for Victims of Torture)
The CVT is the largest torture treatment center in the United States, they are located in Minneapolis, MN. You will find a comprehensive and up-to-date list of all the consortium members and other partner associations, as well as valuable information regarding current events in the field of torture and human rights.

United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR)

United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)

United Nations Development Program (UNDP)

Latin American & Carribean:

North American Congress on Latin America (NACLA)
Provides information on major trends in Latin America
and its relations with the United States. Publishes NACLA Report
on the Americas, the most widely read English language publication
on Latin America.

Network in Solidarity with the People of Guatemala (NISGUA)
Works to provide moral and material support to grassroots
movements; reorient US policy towards Guatemala;
build support in the United States for the ongoing peace negotiations
to end Guatemala's civil war; and educate the US public about the
current situation in Guatemala.

Center of Legal Action for Human Rights (CALDH)
A Guatemalan human rights organization that works within the peace-building
process to promote the rights of women, children and youth, disabled people
and Indigenous Peoples.

The Latin American Information Agency (Alai Amlatina)
A communications organization, committed to the full respect of human rights,
gender equality and people's participation in development and policy making
in Latin America.

Grupo Tortura Nunca Mais
A Brazilian initiative to inform, educate and abolish torture practice in Brazil
and around the world.

Colombia Support Network
Strives to improve the human rights situation in Colombia
and build solidarity between the peoples of North America and Colombia.

Derechos Human Rights' partner organization. Here, you will find a complete and
comprehensivelist of human rights organizations in Latin America

World Wide Organizations:

The Hunger Project
This project is amazing, their site is wonderful and very informative. To quote from their own site: "The bottom line is simple-we invest in and empower people. In more than 8, 000 villages, The Hunger Project empowers local people to create lasting, self-reliant improvements in health, education, nutrition, food production and family income."

Derechos Human Rights
Works for the respect and promotion of human rights throughout the world. Inculding
the socialization of human rights related information and analysis through
the internet and other media, the promotion of prosecutions of human rights violators
and the support of local human rights NGOs and activists.

Amnesty International
Amnesty International is a world leader in the fight to eradicate torture.

Human Rights Watch
Human Rights Watch (HRW) investigates and exposes human rights violations
occurring worldwide. Their website provides an extensive listing of country reports
documenting human rights abuse.

World Organization Against Torture
The World Organization Against Torture is a nonprofit human rights monitoring,
reporting and advocacy group, has a worldwide network of over 200 human rights
organizations, each focusing attention on their own government's compliance
with international human rights standards.

MADRE
An international women’s human rights organization that works
in partnership with women’s community-based groups in conflict areas worldwide.
Their programs address issues of sustainable development, community improvement
and women’s health; violence and war; discrimination and racism;
self-determination and collective rights; women’s leadership development;
and human rights education. A GREAT site!
